Yes, I'd worked that much out. I should have been more specific:
- this heat shrink says "125° C (∅15).
- it is on a ceiling light covering wires that are crimped together with plastic crimps.
Is there a particular type of heat shrink I need to use? Or does it just need to be the right size?

The most basic general purpose stuff is 125°C rated. If you don't want to fund one of the platforms, Hilltop is my go-to for tubular products, their shipping charge on small orders is steep but less than RS
