Racing Line version is Magi-X only and uses a downhill casing; regular Wild Enduro come in Gum or Magi-X, and have a lighter casing.
I genuinely don't think a tyre's rolling resistance comes into play unless you're riding very dry trails or proper hardpack. In the UK certainly, most of your time is spent overcoming claggy mud rather than the tyre's resistance.

And the rear one is still rubbish.

I've got a week in Scotland coming up, and even though I've got a ultra soft Magic Mary/Betty combo which worked flawlessly last year, I'm very tempted to try some Conti Argotals. A couple of mates are on them and rave about them, they race too so aren't messing around. Anyone else tried them yet?

mr tim, 👋 any chance you found that hope freehub please?

I have them on my Honzo and I’m liking them so far.
Set up was very straight forward, grip seems great. They’re a pretty aggressive tread so maybe a bit harder going on the climbs and flat than other tyres. Been impressed with their ability to just smack smash through terrain that would have ripped other tires to shreds.

I have to ride 60km of tarmac to get to the trails

It’s a “bike park” these days dontcha know. I think the plop has been turned into a more sculptured affair.

I do wonder how more XC orientated tyres would perform - issue is that it's often wet (tropical storms being a daily occurrence) and therefore a lot of the trails are built out of rocks, as soil washes away. This means you get a lot of rocky descents with accompanying short sharp rock climbs. I think the thiner casing and lack of grip would be, erm, exciting - and potentially lead to a lot of cursing.

Yeah so I hear, don’t think I’ve been there since 06 or 07.
Little need now that I live in South Wales -

Bike tyres are woeful enough without trying to make them thinner and lighter. DH casings for everything, plus it makes you fitter.

Very much this imo, it’s all about fun on the downs*. So if that means working harder to get there so be it.
*less punctures/sidewall tears an added bonus

I do agree in general, but DH22's for 60km of tarmac would probably mean that there's not a great deal of them left to grip the trail after a couple of rides!

An excuse to @dammit a motorbike build?

Hah, I suspect the answer is either to HTFU or maybe go for a slightly less nobbly/harder than ideal rear tyre.

Or get a car.

I don't think I even covered 60km on an uplift day, fuck pedalling that far before doing any riding

And having to do it post ride!

Buy a load of different Yalla and store them at each bike park/country you ride in and ride a more suitable bike the 60k to and from the parks?

It’s like 5 minutes away. But I don’t do MTB any more. The irony is I used to ride loads at Chicksands 20 odd years ago when I was still in London. Never thought I’d be living up here!
