An IOPC spokesperson said: “We can confirm that we have received a mandatory referral from the Metropolitan Police Service following a road traffic incident involving a marked police car and a cyclist in Bethnal Green Road, London, E2 on Wednesday 17 January.
“The collision took place at around 10.30pm when the car was responding to an emergency call and was driving on the wrong side of the road.
Two weeks earlier, a teenage girl was hit by a police driver in Bethnal Green Road, too (although at the Vallance Road junction, not 'the exact same stretch' as stated in one of the articles, unless you're happy to stretch the meaning of 'exact same' a bit):
