  • Online returns question! My wife has just bought a load of MAAP gear, all in two sizes, from their sale.

    On going to return the ones that were too big, MAAP say they do not refund sale items, and will only offer exchange/store credit. It's a bit cheeky - the product pages all say "Free shipping and returns" and its only if you click into that section that it says "not on sale items".

    The bigger issue though is that I thought this wasn't allowed - doesn't whatever the "Distance Selling Regulations" are called these days cover her?

    (Edit - found a page on their site that essentially says "we're Australian mate, and follow Australian law - does that get them out of it, even though they are selling to the UK? I wouldn't have thought so...)

    Yes. Distance selling regulations are local laws for local people. Aussie corporations are no more bound by them than are Somali pirates.
