  • virgil raising his doubts about his liverpool future in the post klopp 2.0 era

we need to get a decent manager in just to stop any possible exodus of other top players, might raise the question again of salah heading off to saudi. hate these transition periods. wonder if klopp would consider coming back after his year or two off when the new manager fails ?

  • Disappointing to hear any such chat from such an important member of the squad.

I guess we always forget these guys are usually mid- to late-20s and probably don't always think before speaking.

  • Virgil will be 33 in July, he might be approaching the age where Liverpool/a new manager don't want to base their long-term plans around him.

  • That may be so. If you were in his shoes, wouldn't you say that? Rather than something vague like he did? Unless of course you were also fed up...

  • i reckon a lot of recent signings who wanted to play for klopp, might be underwhelmed by who comes next
malaise sets in a we turn into ten haags man utd.

rashford dropped from the team " with illness " this weekend after partying in belfast and getting a private jet home. ah the life of a footballer .... if you don't get caught

  • malaise sets in a we turn into ten haags man utd

Yeh you don't want that to happen.

Whoever took that photo of Rashford (in Belfast, no prizes for guessing allegiance) might have actually done United a huge favour.

  • I heard a suggestion of Mourinho to replace Klopp - utter madness but slightly less so than the Stevie G/LGBT Jordan ‘dream ticket’

  • Stevie G would be a bonkers appointment. He's proven not very good.

Mourinho would be a terrible fit, not afraid to say when the problem is self-made rather than blame other teams or officials every time.

  • there might be one benefit of thrushy becoming manager, my disappearance from the football thread and joing mikec , john h and pisti over on the rollerblading forums

  • Hard agree - Mourinho is a managerial has been, Gerrard is a managerial never was

  • There's literally nothing to this that isn't upside then. #boom-tish

  • Anyone would be a bad appointment......so it might be best to give it to Gerrard.

  • I think we all know a Gerrard/Deeney axis of power is what we deserve.

  • milner player / manager

  • With a matching Netflix documentary

  • Blackburn Wrexthem.

  • Maybe it's just me but following Klopp doesn't feel like following Ferguson.

Under Ferguson at Utd winning something seemed to be the expectation. At Liverpool under Klopp winning something seemed to be a bonus, he's not really won that much.

  • Hearts.

    He won hearts

  • He won hearts

    And Mainz.

  • Did Ferguson leave United in a great state?

  • Surly it's Alonso who is getting lined up for Liverpool.

  • They were getting towards needing an overhaul but had still won the league twice in his last three seasons. There's a decent chance that Klopp will have had one FA cup win in the equivalent period.

  • There's no point in comparing, as both were up against quite different challenges.........

But the two CL finals suggest Ferguson might've struggled against another Guardiola team.
