Well weight is no longer main goal. Under 7kg will do the job and since i will be using full mechanical red/force 1x12 it should be pretty easy to achieve such weight even with high profile rims and heavier disc frame.

Into this idea.
I once bought an izalco max disc for a few hundred, sold it to a forumer who drove it into his garage door attached to the roof rack -

An under rated approach to weight reduction for sure

It took a while but finally this thing popped up in my local marketplace and I pulled a trigger on this Ridley Fenix

Thanks! I kinda reconsidering this whole full mechanical idea since this 105 groupset is really great. All i need is a nice finishing kit and bigger chainrings

Went extra mile removing not only the derailleur itself but the shifter mechanism too

To sort ridley's internal routing mess i've designed this thing. It will keep everything aligned and will give my stem 360° surface area to grab on to.

First attempt on making one of the parts in forged carbon was not very successful. Even though the part looks great i didn't have the right scale to measure this small amounts of material right so the part didn't hardened as it should and it is almost rubber like.

Still need to change inner tubes to tpu but it is showing 7.75kg on my luggage scales

I wouldn't worry too much about the weight

Banger! Aren't TPU tubes meant to be shit though? A mate of mine did the Trans Pyrenees a while back and punctured 3 TPU tubes, including 2 spares that wouldn't hold air when he installed them.

not sure about that but I'm willing to try. if they turn out to be shit I'll go butyl or tubeless.

Very confused by the title of this thread and everyone saying that Ridley is Halfords house brand

If you read the first post all your confusion will disappear

Tpu tubes seem to be fine, originally ordered them to be used as spares due to their small size but i couldn't keep them in a closet knowing i could shave 170g of my wheels with them. I installed them and went for a short ride already and they seem to be fine. Had no problems installing them and they feel nicer than the butyl ones while they cost the same, i will keep riding and will give you more feedback on them when i put some miles on them. still have to replace rotors to push this under 7.5kg though, thinking about mt8000

What wheels/ hubs are you on there? I need some purple hubs for my purple monster
Nice build
depends what you are after for a disc bike ?
if weight savings are still the goal, there are less to chose from and i would second comment #48 and add giant tcr.
if not, any frame would do
