Yes I have one. On kitchen island that is not ducted so vents use carbon filters. It works very well.

• #1754
Which model do you have?
-
• #1755
It just goes into the unit underneath? How much space does that take up? If you could show me a photo that would be cool.

Yeah, hence the apprehension and research!
I got a robot lawnmower a couple years ago and based on that positive experience I went for it

No it's not, that's what I meant that none of the examples make sense to me, it's not something that I would want to cook or even eat. But the technology sounds very sci-fi.

Can't remember exact model no but I could probably dig it out. It's Neff. Manual says T4. D7A on front. It's the RHS in this pic. I had a gas domino installed alongside.
Edit. Top drawer in that unit beneath is false to take the filters. They are removable carbon filters and v easy to swap out - roughly 6 months to 1 year.

Sounds like some sort of weird multi zone system. Though why you would want hot fish encased in ice or food inside beeswax (which would have to be heated to encase it in the first place.

Breadmakers - how do they work? Do you just lob the ingredients in and an hour later you have a loaf of bread or do they still need to sit and prove and stuff? How good are the loaves that come out of them, I had one 20+ years ago and remember the bread it made was fairly average.
Also, I'd like a saute pan or frying pan with a ~ 22cm base. There don't seem to be many saute pans of this size and frying pans rarely seem to give the base diameter. Any suggestions?

It still has to prove but it happens in the bread maker on a programme, you don't have to intervene. Time depends on the loaf you are making. The bread from ours is okay. Better than the stuff you get in a plastic bag in the supermarket, not as good as your favourite artisan bakery. It has a hole in the bottom where the mixing pedal is.

Procook show base sizes on their website as part of the product images. Don’t know how fancy you’re after but they have a fairly wide range.

IKEA have loads of pan options , 24cm being more common than 22.
What type of pan are you after? Stainless Steel, carbon steel, aluminium, non stick, with a lid?

I have a Bora, as others have said it has a carbon filter in the unit. You can’t have a drawer directly under it…would be the same if it was vented. 3 years old now and works a dream.

3 hours and 21 minutes later. Bread is much better than supermarket and quite a bit cheaper if you use the breadmaker regularly. Also has a lot less crap in it. Flour, water, oil, salt, sugar, yeast.
Not as good as a proper baker.
And has a hole, like said upthread.

Switchbot k10, maps with lidar, is smaller than most so gets into tighter spaces like between chair legs. Despite lidar it still behaves like a bumper car.

Flour water salt and yeast are the ingredients in bread. No knead for oil or sugar.
-
• #1768
I use butter and sugar when making bread.
-
• #1769
No salt needed
-
• #1770
Yes there is, for flavour and to limit the action of the yeast.
Ken Forkish’s book isn’t called Flour Water Salt Yeast no reason.
-
• #1771
You don't even need yeast if making flatbread or soda bread.
-
• #1772
No you just need to reassess your priorities.

My integrated Siemens microwave has randomly started beeping and constantly cycling through various settings.
Turning the fuse off has sometime resolved it, but it's now started doing it again.
Anyone had anything like this? Is it repairable? (prefer not to chuck things if possible).
Otherwise is replacing integrated microwaves. Fairly straightforward?
Cheers.

Is it repairable?
Probably not very cost effectively, you might need to swap a fairly large control which will cost loads.
Otherwise is replacing integrated microwaves. Fairly straightforward?
Very easy. They can be heavy so you probably need two people and maybe a temporary thing to put it on while you connect it up.

Who was it that mentioned le creuset and their lifetime guarantee? It was a great tip.
I mostly use their stainless steel pans but do have two non stick ones where the coating has started to fail. I contacted Le Creuset UK who asked for some photos and they will be sending me two replacements. They are not accepting a problem with the pans and are suggesting they had been misused but the email did feel like a stock reply so I am not fussed.
One point I note though was they suggest not using olive oil for frying as the flashpoint is too low and it is likely to form a layer on top of the non stick.
I know the pans have only ever been hand washed and the utensils have either been wooden or silicone. Though I would have to accept they have been heated up to 8.5/10 on my induction hob, and so think it could well be this higher heat with olive oil may have been the issue.
But am really impressed by their customer service and the replacements will be used at a lower maximum heat.
“ This is because the photos you have provided us with show signs consistent with overheating, rougher utensil use and dishwasher wear and tear.
We do advise in our care and use instructions that you only need to use low to medium heat when cooking with Le Creuset cookware because it has been designed to heat up evenly and efficiently. If you cook using high heat, it can create hotspots in the body of the pan, which can damage the pan and cause food to stick to the pan. We also recommend heating the pan with some oil or liquid as heating the pan dry for a long period can cause damage to the pan’s body.
We advise against the use of olive oil and recommend oils with a higher burning point like rapeseed oil, coconut oil and sunflower oil. Olive oil has a very low burning point, and this can form a brownish film on the pan (burnt oil), creating a barrier between the food and the pan.”
