  • Yep. We just had to replace ours and have found a quiet boil kettle. It’s great.
    My partners kettle wasn’t noisy but stayed on boil for way too long, filling the kitchen with steam.
    Kettle tech is only marginally more sophisticated than toaster tech which is only marginally more sophisticated than a stick and an open fire.

    Our kettle is noisy and boils for ages when it needs a descaling. Once we do that it's quiet and quick (to boil and turn off) again.

    Also, variable temperature kettles (a.k.a. "smart kettles" *spit*) are a thing.
