Well, yeah, it was a cheap shot at Man U.
Paydays are good, although I believe we spunked most of ours up the wall after we got earned a replay at OT years ago.

Successful day for Ipswich!
- Ability to fully concentrate on the league secured
- McKenna's reputation slightly dented, therefore increasing chance of keeping him
- Board cannot argue that we need a new striker now (38 shots, 1 goal) - Al Hamadi incoming?
- New example for the thread of manager taking defeat gracefully (McKenna's post match interview was great, addressing Maidstone's ability and praising them first)
- Made George Elokobi happy and he seems like a nice guy
- Ability to fully concentrate on the league secured

God Newcastle were dogshit in that match.

The stewards deserve a raise.

But if they do like Maidstone they deserve a home tie against a top tier club. A lot of much needed money into both clubs kitty.
Money is split equally so what the chairmen all want is an away tie at a big team.

But the town/city of Maidstone/Newport make lots of money on match day.
Yesterday Newport was busier than it’s been for a couple of years, the new Newport County shop was rammed, every pub all the coffee shops and cafes thriving not to mention loads of people selling half n half scarves all over the centre. All the hotels and Airbnb’s will have been good. It’s not all about the club.
Also if they get say Liverpool at home in the next round then it’ll definitely be live on TV so they’ll earn the money from that too and another huge earning for the club. -

Xavi leaving at the end of this season. Would Klopp be interested in doing another gig in a different league so quickly?
-
• #167561
Seems unlikely, given how definitive he has been about a years break, and Xavi's reasons for leaving.
I think Barca might go after Arteta.

Packed at the Vine already. 11.45 kick off is a joke

Oh yes, but I'm not sure many lower league clubs are that altruistic that they'll give up hundreds of thousands for a boost to their local economy.
Andy Holt (Accy Stanley owner) was asked a similar question recently and said they'd want an away tie at a big team

Even as a Villa fan, I love the Vine. What a great pub. The food it quality as well.

Recommend the latest Stadio podcast, regarding Klopp.

All good thanks. We left about 10 mins before the restart. Couldn’t see it being restarted - there were still scuffles and pitch invasions and bottles being thrown.
Embarrassing.
I was hoping we’d forfeit.
It seemed like a rogue wolves fan was in the Albion end but that’s no excuse for 50 people to try to kill him. There were punch ups all around. Bartley had to carry his kids off down the tunnel.
Waiting in the vine for my curry now.

Just listening to 5Live and a Liverpool fan has suggested Stevie G to succeed Jurgen Klopp - would be worth it just for seeing Darwin Nunez’ confusion when being expected to be inspired by a team talk with Sussudio playing in the background

Liverpool fans are all whoppers. Fact.

I rest my case.
IRL one of my best mates is a Liverpool fan (from Surrey, natch) and we have had a rolling double-or-quits bet since we were at uni about Liverpool or Villa finishing highest. I think I currently owe him £409,600. Hopefully post-Klopp I can get another quits in.
Fuck that!
I really want the County to go through, for many reasons.
