  • Please post on this thread as often as possible with up to date assessments of the dryness/wetness of Epping Forest. Then I can put the right tyres on my bike before each ride. Thanks.

  • Mud tyres every day of the year except June 15th and September 10th

  • Updated forest paths conditions, 9th Oct: dry
32mm tyres mixed terrain tyres at 45psi? Harsh on the dry soil ruts and exposed roots

  • How bad is it currently?

  • leaf fall makes it a real bog roulette

  • Happy to surveys when needed as it's outside my backdoor.

  • Should monetise this possibly on OnlyFans.

  • If you're riding the gravel paths, you need to expand your tiny mind
If you're riding offroad, it's definitely not time for XC tyres, but not bad at all considering.

  • It's going to be sunny tomorrow, but what is the mud-o-meter saying?

  • Reckon it will be ridable

  • Two days ago was all rideable apart from the dreaded peanut butter hill

  • You cleared it though, right?

  • Cool. Yes, that looks like somewhere to avoid. Along with Whitehall Plain no doubt.

  • Utter filth right now. Rideable though.

  • Anyone tried the alternate route up pb hill? (To the right of pic)

  • Where is this hill? I feel like I've been up it, or should've been up it.

  • Entry point to the park coming from the stow

  • Ah yeah of course. Fortunately, only been up and down it when bone dry, even with road tyres before. Very rattley!

  • There's a bigger & nastier version of peanut butter hill off Mott St, leading up to the golf course, but I've been too nice to take anyone up there

  • lol subscribed.

Just bought some 650b wheels so I can get some right knobbly numbers on them, last time I tried to ride in Epping I was all over the shop.

  • I like the sound of this peanut butter hill. Full Limus it is!

  • Yeah, it’s easier but you feel morally corrupt for wussing out

  • There is an alternative up PB hill to the left as well.

  • Still absolute slop
