I mean, you can get a dirt cheap normal metal tamper to appease her. The normcore will be better. Especially as it’ll always tamp perfectly level.

Really impressed with quality to price ratio of the Normcore puck prep tools I have. I got the spring loaded tamper, dosing funnel, WDT and the distributor. Zero regrets. All very well machined and the tolerances for use with a 58mm pf are millimeter perfect.

we need to upgrade the plastic tamper that came with our machine. my partner wants a traditional motta style tamper, but I'm convinced by a spring loaded normcore - who's right?
