It would have to be overbuilt to avoid regular users shattering them in use and transport (think Pyrex thickness) and force you to do lots of preheating.
Single use plastics are shit - I agree, but high quality plastics used where most appropriate ar not a bad thing
There is some debate as to if plastic is appropriate for high temperature food related stuff. See the new Aeropress being proudly BPA free whilst possibly using other plastics that have similar or worse properties .
