Because there’s data emerging about nasty shit from the plastics leeching out and into the water, even when BPA free. And considering that the information about micro plastic consumption from using plastics seems to be moving in one direction (towards it being bad), I’m keen to eradicate them where I can.
And if you can’t press an aeropress carefully, that’s your problem. They’re designed to be pressed gently and not forcefully anyway.

There is some debate as to if plastic is appropriate for high temperature food related stuff. See the new Aeropress being proudly BPA free whilst possibly using other plastics that have similar or worse properties .

I’ve really been enjoying using my aeropress at work. Very easy to use with minimal mess.
I wish there was a glass one available tho.
