Thanks, I just plonked them there temporarily as we have so many of them. Was thinking of having a nice simple bench(full sun south facing) to the left of the front door as you look at it. Will then stack up the stones properly- infill and thinking of Mediterranean planting / gravel , grasses etc.
Porch may end up just being a rain canopy to be honest .

Benches are always good, and in front you might even end up chatting with neighbours.
I really don't want to tell you what to do, but as someone who will probably never own a house (Berlin, houses are possible, but not in areas partner would move too...) I love to pretend it's me deciding.
Simple rain canopy makes sense.
Those stones with stuff growing between will be great.
Looking forward to the pictures of cleaned up brickwork, exciting stuff!

Looking at it right now I am not sure if I would go for as much porch design as you are planning. It's a nice plan, don't get me wrong, and sedum will look great.
But for me the contrast between simple doors and random stones is so good I'd be hesitant to obstruct it. And the rocks just naturally flowing in from the left is also good.
