New inov8 Mudtalon in the wide fit?

Haven’t had great experiences with inov8 I raced in mud claws a few times and came away with bruised feet that matched the tread. They are fine on really soft ground, but if it’s mixed road or just lots of big rocks, they don’t give much protection…maybe I’m delicate.

That’s pretty standard tbf - definitely for racing and soft underfoot. They’re minimal in cushioning for sure. I wince on any tarmac .

I got these in the sale for harder packed trails, happy so far, but used to very minimal shoes, so these seem reasonably cushioned to me.

It was my fault for choosing the wrong shoes. I was running the Bath hilly half. I had top twentied it the year before and was in better shape, but the ground was harder this time and the mud claws were not the right shoe and beat me up.
