• It's the low spoke count i'm worried about rather the stopping performance. My experience of Spyre's is they're no better than rim calipers in the dry but they maintain that performance in the wet which is good enough for me.

  • it is 28h yes, goldtec hub. I thought you were talking 24h. I am looking at building a 24h carbon rim one in the near future though, for occasionnal duties.
    My feedback is similar with spyres, braking is similar to caliper on an alloy rim. the setup needs regular servicing to keep cable travel tight but it works okay, and is consistent in the rain.

    My gut feeling is that it would depend on the quality of the wheel build and components with 20 holes, totally doable but possibly a bit more stressful.
