I’d initially thought about posting a hare or a owl here but then decided this hastily shot mobile phone photo was probably my favourite of 2023. We had just had a slightly scary drive across mountain roads in a storm and a few minutes after arriving back at base I went out for a walk as the sun was coming out. This randonneur was soaked through but grinning from ear to ear as he passed me.

OK, here hare here. I was walking along a shaded bridleway on the edge of our village and ahead of me I saw a creature lolloping towards me. As it reached a spot on the path where there was a gap in the trees, it stopped and sat for a while and I had enough time to raise my camera and take a few shots.

New to photography, only being gifted a camera at Christmas. But on the first trip out found an abandoned factory with my suitably colourful friend. Think this may have been my favourite shot of the day.

Beautiful

One stand out image for me, albeit not technically a great photo I think.

The inside ramp of the Rundetårn in Copenhagen. Absolutely life goal to have visited this as a observatory nerd last year, and this was the best photo I got of my experience. Love everything about this building ever since I heard the story of Peter the Great ascending it by horseback in 1716.
