There is a very small gap at the bottom headset level. I dont remember if that was like that before. All the parts are correct so It should be like that I suppose unless someone has a different experience. thanks

Quick update. Today I was able to strip all the potenza components from the Oltre XR2. At the same time I have also prepared it for the new groupset/cables by using some sleeves so that I should not have issues in routing the cables in the frame :)

Something I did not mention is that it took me literally hours to remove the old cables from the shifters. I noticed the bike shop used Shimano cables for my campagnolo group set and both brakes and gear heads ended up stuck in the shifters :(
I managed to catch the brake with pliers but the gear was a completely different story. I had to disassemble the shifter and use fire to make the head slightly melt the plastic so I could move it :'(
In the end I did it and then I decided to work on it tonight to catch up on the time wasted.
Started from a naked nirone and now I have a Potenza Nirone7! Next step, cables!

Probably?! Rotate the bars down while you’re at it. Also, the quick release of your left lever is open.
Bike looks good otherwise. Nice gruppo.

I've moved the hoods up and redone the taping. Today will take better pictures than this (which I don't believe happened after I redid the taping as I don't remember seeing that wrinkle).
All in all, for being my first bike that I rebuild from scratch, I'm very satisfied _

They still need to go way up and bars rotated down. I think it deserves some nicer tyres too, those tractor jobs don't do it justice.

I had purchased a chorus 12 for my oltre. I did not want to sell the potenza so I removed the Shimano from there and went full Italian:)

With those bars you want the end inch to be level with the floor or pointing very slightly down

Perpendicular to the ground or pointing at the rear brake mount but with modern bars like that it's usually the ground

It's all done now!
I've been riding this beauty indoor for the last few months for the Ford rideLondon.
I really love how it works now. I've tuned the potenza 11 to a point it is just perfect! That's a hell of a groupset, really love it.

One element I changed since the Shimano build is sheathing the cables (both gear and brakes) on the sections where they were "naked". I hope it's not going to bite back with decreased performance but so far no issues. Hopefully the sheathing hopefully will protect them longer :)
Hello everyone, I hope you are well :) Federico here from Epping.
Last year in June I purchased a used Bianchi Via Nirone 7. After few months a new bike arrived, another Bianchi (Oltre XR2) which I put together starting from just the frame. This project is going to migrate the Campagnolo Potenza that I have on the XR2 to the Nirone 7. I've started stripping off the current groupset which is a mix of 105/Ultegra parts.
I've managed to remove all the Shimano parts today, replaced the bottom bracket with an ultra torque campagnolo BB and also I've replaced the headset bearings. Removed the old caged bearing and changed with what I found on the Bianchi tech spec: ZS-4D from FSA at the bottom of the headset and MH121 at the top (it was a different one but the 121 fit and I had spares).
Next step would be stripping the Potenza from the XR2 and install it on the Nirone!
