People have been doing this for years. What gets people annoyed is that we have a video review system which failed to operate. Back in the day we just got on with it. Mikel Arteta moved a ball back about two yards against Bolton to score the winner years ago. Big Sam moaned a bit, but what can you do when a ref doesn’t have eyes in the back of his head. Michael Brown on the beeb was bemoaning the fact that no Forest players are watching and no one complains to the ref.

In short, VAR is ruining the game. Bin it off.

Every FA cup game without VAR has been an infinitely better spectacle, the Bristol - West Ham replay was a good example.

The wall was in front of the foam line too.

Away to Leicester tomorrow night.
I feel like it's a free hit - we probably won't get anything out of it and they're too far out of reach for us to think of catching them anyway. And we still haven't signed a striker.
It's quite a long way on a school night though so it would be nice if we could get something.
Hopefully going to the next two away games after that as well - Preston and Millwall. This season is probably my favourite since 2007-08.

Had these sent to a friend in Germany, who brought them to England for me, as the Barcelona and Sweden team shops don't send to the UK. Ordered four months ago. Nice to finally have them. Both men's XL.
Nike online shop doesn't offer the same customisation options you can get directly from the Barcelona shop (Women's Champions League arm badge etc). The font looks different in the images on the Nike website when you add the custom name and number too - not sure why. So that is why I ordered direct instead. The Sweden goalkeeper one you can't get in the UK at all.
For anyone interested: Barcelona one is the "Stadium" and not the "Match / Player's Edition" shirt, because I wanted something more durable / comfortable, and with the embroidered club logo instead of the heat-applied one.
Maybe Katie McCabe next. Or Vicki Becho, because I think she's underrated (can't find any good clips online, but she was great during the World Cup).

psv eindhoven drop their first points of the season
xavi alonso's leverkusen ahead of harry kanes bayern munich by 7 pts currently
i reckon he'll be in demand when he leaves them in the next couple of years -

Bayern will still win it, almost as predictably as City will win the Premier League.

Bayern have a game in hand and Boniface is out until April so things might catch up on them, plus Neverkusen.
Also Girona are back on top of La Liga.
And over in Ligue 1, actually nevermind.

Ligue 1 is lower quality than the Saudi league according to Ronaldo…

I was bizarrely upset that PSV only drew. My son and I had become disproportionately invested in them completing a perfect season (which of course was hugely unlikely)

girona are part of the man citeh group, so i've read, not 100% sure i can cheer them on. hope no one investigates their sponsorship deals or their player purchases, or cheap sales of their best players to citeh come the end of the season.

It’s not like McBurnie has a history of elbowing players… I guess Var is going to Var, apart from when it doesn’t

Exactly, they're hardly Villarreal sitting at the top. They're City's Vitesse Arnhem, albeit doing well.

Almiron binned off to Saudi. Nothing to see there.

Strange one.
Fans love him and he clearly has something left to give at this level. I guess it depends who they reckon they'll be swapping him for with the overinflated sale price.

I've very much decided fuck it for this season. We've had some shocking referee/VAR decisions and although I'd like to think it's the same for all the teams at the bottom Sheff Utd & Luton seem to have got lucky with a few of them.
Looking forward to being back in the championship where it's just an incompetent ref and no promise of a higher power to fix the bad decisions.

Shocked to see Almiron going to Saudi for mega money the second Newcastle need to balance their books.

Nothing to see there.
Is right. A totally normal transfer in a totally normal sport which has no fundmental structural issues.

almiron has 6 months left on his contract. his transfer value will be relatively low .... right ?

He signed a new deal in February to 2026.

I can understand them shipping Almiron. Get a few quid for him while they can, because he’s not really good enough.
I think Trippier will end up at Bayern, which will be good business for the Germans.
A size 5 football is only 220mm diameter. The video I saw, he only moved it once.
I still assert that he’d be better rolling it backwards. Getting the ball up and over the wall is the real challenge when taking a free kick.
