  • New wheels? And did you weigh it?

  • No new saddle period correct
Will do the weigh tomorow : )

  • 8,75kg

  • Wel done 👏👏👏
Was the jubilee lighter than the mavic rd?

  • Hi Y'all, whats the best cheap 90's MTB crankset for a 1x9 setup with common bcd (110 or 104 I guess)? Some look very cool, like the one in the pic below but I think they have a wonky BCD for which nobody makes rings these days....

    Ideas much appreciated!

  • 5x110 BCD and nice is M730 (XT), MT60 (DX), M550 (LX) - all for 122,5mm axle originally.
Then M560 (not 56x, 563 is same looking, but 5x94 BCD) for narrower axle and if you prefer black one.

Then I think STX-RC (FC-MC40) looks similar style to what you pictured and should be 4x104 BCD. There is more of these, late 90s were 5x94 or 4x104.

  • oh thanks thats a good selection! I also found the successor of the one in my pic (fc mc 18) which appears to have bcd 104:

  • I have those cranks from the picture, they have some weird bcd indeed and that makes them quite useless.
I really liked STX-rc but some Deore or so would also be fine

  • Nitto cockpit. Reappropriate tape

  • Pure filth!

  • New wheels for the Stan Pike, which is slowly getting there. I’m not sure the stem is quite working either and I also have a silver Thomson post I could try, though I think the current one is probably a better fit?

  • Whipped up a quick bracket for a Dyno light but it's feeling a bit sticky-outy now it's fitted so I might make one to go across both rack bosses and mount the light horizontally like a seat stay bridge instead.

  • I thought about making one off these across both rear pannier mounts, figured if you made a U shape one mount just wider than the B&M/ son light, you could screw it in from inside or outside the seat stay. Don’t know why someone hasn’t made one yet?

    Knock me one up? 😜

  • How about one of those August barrel nut solutions?

  • Undoubtedly the neatest solution for mounting in that area (without just using a seatpost mount light). But I already have this light and a bunch of aluminium plate and spare time so I was keen to try to make something. It didn't cost me anything to try.

  • Only thing is that your pannier bosses are unlikely to be the same width apart as mine. Happy to knock you up a simple bracket if you take a measurement and maybe a fag packet drawing of what you were thinking. The inside/outside mounting thing has confused me.

  • Like this so neatly would fit the light, what’s the measurement between screws 50mm? So say 65/70mm wide enough to just fit the edges of the light
Wouldn’t matter about how wide seat stays are because bolts could go outside-in or inside-out and use washers/spacers

  • New WS day

  • I also need something like this and its annoying that nothing exists otp. I'm on the verge of just zip tying it in place and calling it good. @PhilDAS want to make a forum batch? :)

  • Yeah can do you something simple. Have you got a bridge in there or will you use rack mounts too?
