...but he can't tell us the date. You wouldn't know it, it goes to a different hearing.
Anyway, looks like 6 points minimum for Forest and Everton. Going to get tasty down the bottom.

Newcastle United’s chairman, Yasir al-Rumayyan, is facing a £58m lawsuit for allegedly “having carried out the instructions” of Saudi Arabia’s crown prince Mohammad bin Salman with “malicious intent”, it has been reported.
The claims, which are said to be made in legal papers sent to Rumayyan at several locations, including at St James’ Park, also allege that he acted with the aim of “harming, silencing and ultimately destroying” the family of Dr Saad Aljabri, the kingdom’s former intelligence chief.
ah, those football loving saudi's
wonder if these charges were brought before or after the fit and proper person checks -

We don't deserve penalties.

Obviously the other benefit of heading to Ajax is not paying UK tax on the Saudi earnings.

Jonathan Wilson's article points out that Dutch tax rate is higher than the UKs - though I'm not sure if he'll have to pay that on the same money as that earned in Saudi or if it's just future earnings.

He’s lost a lot of money, his personal brand has taken a hit, the league has taken a hit.
Stevie G must be a really shite manager.

It’s not the greatest piece of journalism tbh.
By not returning to the UK his tax free salary from Saudi is still that. In the Netherlands he will make use of the 30% rule, effectively meaning that 30% of his salary is tax free. The effective tax rate therefore drops to around 35%.
-
• #167367
I somehow should have seen it coming that that wealthy people are afforded more lenient tax treatments.
-
• #167368
Actually it applies to anyone who hasn’t worked in the Netherlands the previous 5 years. The minimum salary threshold is €46k a year.

I read that he'd deferred his wages for some tax loophole reason and is binning them off to allow his move. Probably got some signing-on bonus, but I don't think he's made much. Not that I have any sympathy.
