Hinge,
The rear hinge where the back wheel
Folds under? If it’s still tight and has no okay then yes, but I doubt you would really get anything inside.

Stronger spring, barrel nut, in-line barrel adjuster.

No the one towards the front

Ah nice thanks, is the spring required because of the aftermarket shifter? Can the rabbit ear shifter be modified to have a third gear?
Alternatively, do you think I could get away with wider gaps between the existing 2 speed cogs, either 11/17 or 11/18 depending on frame clearance.

Got a suggestion for the stronger spring? I sometimes think my dropper remote shifting woes are due to that.

I've got these from chain reaction.
Would I still need to change the cables as they're not Mbars height.

Yes, to all three questions

Mini mods I’ll double check on Thursday if I’ve got any left, but I think I sent them all to Bromptonhaus in London

Definitely still need to change the cables, they are also sweptback, so your bike is going much wider when folded

My partner's dad has very kindly given me his old Brompton which has apparently sat unused in his garage for the past decade:
Since that photo ^ I've taken it to Lunar cycles who have serviced it and put in a rear frame clip and new suspension block. They also said I need to replace the chain and BB which means also replacing the rear wheel and chainset etc etc etc but I'm gonna wait and see if I actually like the brompton life before I commit to that $$$. Would rather work on it myself but I have no idea where to start with all the proprietary parts
Took it for my first brompton+overground commute this morning. Marginally quicker than cycling the whole way on a proper bike, but less cold and less faff, so excellent for days like today.
Anyone know how I can check what version this is? For e.g. checking compatibility of replacement parts etc.

Cheers. Description says,
"Ideal for aftermarket shifters (stock post 2017 ones are not strong enough) with a "straight through" anchorage system - pre 2017 style."
I'm using a 2015 spring with a barrel nut so I can use a normal inner cable on my remote suspension locker (not dropper, oops). Is it worth the replacement/upgrade still?

Love the sunset colours but not sure I'd do that on a Brompton. Here's my mean, orange cabled machine...

I wrote it ;)
Would need to test, shifter sounds like could be the issue? Poor leverage?
-
• #14744
Hahaha. It's some Suntour lockout I bought from a Decathlon store. It seems fine to me as it's a very simple design - push the lever down to lock it in place and pull the cable, release it both the cable and lever return to the 'open' position.

Just seen this: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C2Zf5RYs-XE/
12 speed released. Before convincing myself I need one, what does it take to fit the derailleur system to an older, 2015 frame, and that's not the BWR hub, is it? @sbbohr you probs know!

My eyes are too slow for my brain, or vice versa. What's making this 12 speed? 6 speed hub with 2 sprockets?

The P and T line have a completely different fitting for the 4 speed rear derailleur. So a new rear triangle or some serious after-market bodgery.
There's a 12 speed C line (though weirdly only electric) which means a steel 4 speed compatible triangle exists.
Wet lube the hinge, all hinges will need to do this btw.
