Everton - ooof. But jeez, they need to get a move on with City (and Chelsea) - it looks so ridiculously biased.

Can't help but feel the PL are rather making it up as they go along.

FA going after us because we didn't want to sell our best player two weeks into the transfer window for £17.5m less than we ended up getting, how is that promoting sustainable finances? I refuse to accept signing 41 players isn't sustainable.
Meanwhile still no news on the 115 charges against City and Chelsea fee to spend £1bn in 18 months.

TBH amusing as it is, seems harsh on Everton to be hit again. I guess they should have sold everyone and played the kids to try and balance the books.

End of the season is going to be a shitshow. Lawyers...ready! #gladiators

And they're including a period we've already been sacntioned for.

This makes a mockery of the whole thing. I hope I am wrong, but I don't think any sanctions will go City's or Chelsea's way.

IIRC City's things are different from general FFP/PSR so have their own hearing - maybe this time next year?
Any action for this last set of accounts had to be done by today, so everyone else is clear. Dunno how Chelsea have got away with it - the dodgy 8yr amortisations I guess. -

Forest and Everton both admitted the breach (but with mitigating circumstances) which is why it's progressing quicker.
City have basically said Fuck you, prove it, and we're not giving you any information which slows things down somewhat.
Theoretically the Forest/Everton ones should be dealt with this season, the final appeal judgement date is the week after the end of the season.
Could be Burnley staying up with a lowest ever points total at this rate.

Chelsea are surely screwed when in 2-3 years time they're stuck with potentially worthless assets (which of their signings have worked thus far?) all on high wages, difficult to move on, with the debt piling up if they continue to buy more players each season

Tend to agree.......now I'm even more curious to see how they treat Manchester City. A Juventus style relegation?

AFCON is a hoot so far. Senegals third goal in particular.

José is back on the market again after succumbing to his usual three year itch.

Another go at Chelsea? Fingers crossed

Yeah perfect top corner curler. Magical

a Rangers style relegation would be better

Mourinho surely off to Al-Kash-Grab now?
-

Newcastle. If Howe doesn't turn it fully around by April.
Or is that what you meant?
-
• #167345
This is what I would like to see, though perhaps harsh on those in the bottom tiers for a few seasons. Did Rangers lose all their good players in that period? I don't keep up with fitba much.
-
• #167346
I'd actually meant retiring to Saudi but Newcastle would be even more bantz.
-
• #167347
Yes this would be for the best.
-
• #167348
Yes he won the Conference league, about as good as winning manager of the month.

Not a relegation. Rangers (oldco) has been liquidated. A new company (Sevco) was established which purchased the IP from the oldco administrators and was admitted to the league pronto by the SFL. A switcheroo which saw various shysters fill their boots (including Alistair M McCoist).
The oldco insolvency was triggered by HMRC rather than the SPL, SFL or SFA.

Can't see that happening if Ashworth is still DoF surely? Tbf to them they've been pretty calculated in everything they have done since the Saudi's took over, hiring Mourinho is reserved for clubs without a plan.
Premier League statement
Premier League
Everton FC and Nottingham Forest FC have each confirmed to the Premier League that they are in breach of the League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR). This is as a result of sustaining losses above the permitted thresholds for the assessment period ending Season 2022/23.
In accordance with Premier League Rules, both cases have now been referred to the chair of the Judicial Panel, who will appoint separate Commissions to determine the appropriate sanction.
Commissions are independent of the Premier League and member clubs. The proceedings are heard in private with the Commissions’ final decisions made public on the Premier League’s website. The League will make no further comment until that time.
everton to get 2nd points deduction of the season ?
just the city and chelsea investigations left now
