Looks like distortion was set at about 1 o'clock for my power chord workout last night
Yes MIJ 1973, an early one when they just went ahead a put Les Paul on the headstock!
On the Matamp front, I have a 1x12 combo that was made by a guy who worked at Radiocraft (also of Orange originally) apparently based on one of their circuits, crazy over engineered thing...
@alex_s it's apparently 50w, very messed with!

I’m planning a trip up to the Matamp factory in Huddersfield to sort an issue with a couple of my amp heads.
Do not under any circumstances agree to deliver anything for them. I'm still waiting on them to pay me for dropping off an amp head to one of their customers fifteen years ago.
Amazing place though. All the multi coloured cabinets, it's like a sweet shop. Beautiful drive and amazing fish and chips round there too.

Bad times. Noted and agreed.

Some progress made on Music Corner™️. I'm sure its not solely my poor drilling that results in the wonky Hercules hangers, but never mind.
I really want to come up with a way of housing my little Orange cab and head, with a slot on top for a couple of rackmount units (a pre and a compressor, so I have a decent vocal signal chain), but am yet to spot a suitable piece of charity shop furniture to bastardise.

Ivar from IKEA, if the aesthetic suits? Nice and flexible and suits an Orange terror head juuuust right.
Haven’t bothered nailing the rack gear down, interface inside a 2U case works. Patchbay held in place by a bulldog clip.

The corner looks great! Another modular solution for storing stuff are those boltless garage-style shelving units as you can adjust the height of each shelf and they'll hold a lot of weight. I have two of these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09WNLKCZ8/ref=pe_27063361_487055811_TE_3p_dp_1?th=1
Quite messy at the moment as I’m forever reshuffling things, ultimately will clear the shelf which currently has boxes of pedals as I’m planning to have two small heads I should be building at some point in 2024…

The fit of the Vox (AC15?) in the rack is very satisfying.
I dislike the way my desk fits into my work/music den. So much wasted space at the ends of the desk…

Can anyone recommend a guitar refinisher? I'm in Edinburgh but I guess with postage that doesn't matter so much?
I've been toying with the idea of getting my 63 SG refinished in Pelham Blue nitro (it's currently in a poly refin, not the best, aged dark ish cherry)
I'm hoping with some replacement parts also (correct trem mainly) I can add some value to it.

A few people on here have used Rich in Wales. He sprays nitro and is a great bloke, very competitive prices (he's honestly about half the price he could charge) and always does a brilliant job.
He's painted three of my guitars (although none had the vintage of yours) and I'd recommend him - message me if you'd like his details or pictures of his work

Holy shit that's a guitar.

I really don't. But EB, you might wanna sound out Yuuki McLure aka @playergradevintage, cautiously.

The problem is that it's had a (still visible) headstock to very top of neck break and repair at some point in its life (before my ownership) and I feel that original translucent cherry probably won't cover it. Also Pelham Blue is a really popular colour currently, for resale value that makes some sense. A nitro cherry refin would still be worth doing though overall...
See the dark line that starts between the 6 and 7 of the serial number and flows down to the left hand top of the knuckle of the neck

I hear what you're saying but there are so many Gibsons out there with cracked headstocks that it's almost expected these days. And isn't Pelham Blue a mid-60s Gibson colour, '65-'66?? I could be way off but that rings a distant bell.
You'll never get top dollar for a refin, still a beautiful guitar.

Pelham blue is a bit Beato

What does that mean?
Thanks, I meant how it is for quality! I’ll take a peek at some point.
