Doubt you'll get much for it.

Felt strange seeing a 38mm looking quite gigantic and bulky on the wrist now.

I like both.
Currently in a strap for comfort but also, and mainly, because the bracelet had little in terms of micro adjustments and couldn't adjust to my size properly

Ah glad to be of help. If you give me a few pointers I’m happy to have a little look if you like. Avoid those made after they moved to Wales (badged “Made in Great Britain”) and only look at those made in England as they’re better quality.

I'd suggest looking into Orient, pretty much manufactured by Seiko. Your budget could net you new watches by them and I've been wearing one (AC05, that I bought off eBay for not very much at all) as my only watch in all weathers and conditions that looks amazing, has been through me coming off the bike, and is still running strong years in.

Omega with a new Speedmaster variant, what we thinking?? Think they'd be better to focus on the constellation line.

I’m a big fan of this Vostok if you want panerai style without the cost https://musingsofawatchaddict.wordpress.com/2020/12/07/the-russian-panerai-vostok-amphibia-classic-170548/

Is there a reason why you're after a second hand mechanical watch - only because Timex do some good models in the £100-200 budget? Less worry about getting a dud one with a new watch.
Alternatively, if you wanted something more modern for son, if you look on Chrono 24 for Tissot / Seiko / Citizen etc and set the filter to your budget, then loads will come up.
I think it's quite hard to buy a watch for someone, would the son be interested in choosing himself?

Updated / ceramic Dark Side with the Spirate movement?
I just want that white dial Moonwatch they teased with Daniel Craig.

Science question, why do some manual watches have a much higher power reserve than automatics?
Been looking at Panerai, a manual with an 8 day power reserve.
When I got my Tudor they were bragging about the 3 day power reserve like it was 3 months, and such a good feature. -
• #75924
Because automatics don't need the reserve given. They self charge. Also space for the mainspring Vs the automatic component of the movement
