  • I worked on this one :), in the sound department

  • No way! Congrats on contributing to a great film.

  • I'm going with a friend already got tickets. Pm me if you do decide on going. Happy to meet up.

  • Was I on shrooms or did I just attend Spirited Away? Anyway, sublime trip.

  • Another Poor Things, BRILLIANT! review.

A wonderful Frankestein Alice in Wonderland Gothic Horror Sex Plus Poly Fantasy picture that's simply brillant. Emma Stone's central performance is a tour de force!

  • How, after how brilliant the movie is?

  • Not seen it, is Vincenzo lancia mentioned?

  • The stage version does not let the side down IMO

  • Was more than pleasantly surprised by The Holdovers which wasn't nearly as saccharine as i expected

  • Free screenings for The Iron Claw here, quite a few locations https://www.cinematik.app/events/the-iron-claw-2024-02-05

Shame Genesis' one is at 10am...

  • The Creator - anyone seen it? Any good?

  • It’s fine. Standard sci fi fare. Passed a couple of hours on the turbo. Not great, not bad

  • Good long-haul flight film. I did fall asleep towards the end, missed a bit, and didn’t feel I missed anything.

Forum passim, it's superb. Top notch sci-fi

  • Good long-haul flight film

This is a high quality back-handed compliment

  • Poor Things was excellent, went to see it not knowing anything and that was great. Could have done with 30 mins lopped off the third act.

Some right popcorn straight to mouthbreathers in the audience though, we were laughing like fucking drains, majority stone silent...

  • I had the opposite experience, people laughing the entire time. Some even warmed themselves up by laughing at the pasta advert beforehand.

  • The VUE near me is often a totally sterile audience for some reason

  • Priscilla was alright. Nice to look at, quite inoffensive. After Poor Things it felt like a made for TV movie

  • Disappointing to hear!

  • Tried and failed to get on with Saltburn. Some great performances and a few laughs but a similar feeling to watching Wolf of Wall street, nothing shocking, just a room full of pricks that i have little interest in. Wouldn't say it was bad, just not for me.

Sticking with the British theme i gave Living with Bill Nighy a go last night. Glossy and sentimental but i didn't care as i was enjoying it so much. Lush to look at and great sound, Nighy is mighty in it.

  • Yeah a bit average overall. Pleasant enough with decent performances, ending felt very rushed.

  • Yeah Saltburn don't get the love, I thought it was mediocre drivel

  • Watched Past Lives last week, very sweet and touching. Almost had me in tears, could relate to the husband's anxiety.

Godzilla -1 this weekend, beyond some obvious flaws pretty fun. I wasn't too into the animation of the monster, quite rigid, but I guess that's a classic take on it. Some of the pacing was a bit frustrating when I just wanted moar lizard.

  • I still maintain that Godzilla Minus One is a great title for a rom com about a giant monster getting stood up by their date
