• Yeah, that kind of thing, although a bit cheaper would be better. We'd be looking at ~£300 insurance, £210 for parking permit so I'd rather keep the total outlay below £1500.

    Also MOT due in March is a concern.

    In July 2022 when I took my old Saxo for its MOT (at a Citroen dealer) they told me it had passed but wouldn't pass again in Jul 2023. I asked the dealer what to do with it and they advised me to sell it privately with about 3 months left on the MOT, even though they knew categorically that it would never pass another MOT. I could never be that much of a cunt so I scrapped it.

  • I don't know what the market is like, but would assume you could expect to negotiate 10% off if you turn up ready to buy and drive away.

    There doesn't seem to be much of a supply of drivable cars with MOT for under £1,000.
