  • It's nice, but not almost 4 digits nice. Maybe.
I like that they put a quartz in it to make it more cycling friendly.
Unimatic are tempting, but the ones I like are to big for me.

  • Ah ok, I'll see what's around. Cheers

  • Cheers - Google throws up three Watch Guys, would it be this , this or this? 210 for servicing a manual watch seems pretty steep based on the one price list I've seen..

  • Decided to make a little display shelf to sit above my desk so I can have a few of my watches on display. I need to knock up some proper ebony pegs to hold the buckles.

The pens/pencils are just to see if I like it and may remake it with tighter joinery, this iteration is from scraps of boxwood from the garage.

  • First one. The recommendation for me was for a watch I really REALLY cared about so may not be the one if you're just after a basic service.

  • You'll struggle to find much less than £200 to service a watch, I've got sentimental watches worth about £50 that I will get serviced at some point because that's what it is.

A watch must be completely disassembled, cleaned, damaged parts replaced and then reassembled with correct oiling, tested and adjusted for timekeeping.

My car is worth less than a grand and costs £500 to service, these days that seems to just mean fluids get changed so really where are you getting value?

  • This is giving me anxiety, i can already see them dropping on the floor

  • Ah nice one, I’m glad you were happy, what was the watch?

  • Hope everyone is doing well

    Have a great weekend

  • Pegs will have recesses so no chance of falling off. Even the current pencil setup doesnt fall as they're a reasonably snug fit to the buckle.

  • Is that the Ti model? Raising my 🤚 as interested

  • Bit late but just like moonswatch did you know, you can get snide copies of these?

  • Got this old thing on today.

  • Hello watch people.

I have an old Storm watch that I haven't worn for years. I don't know what model it is. It says 'retro' on the back. But googling storm retro doesn't come up with anything useful.

Do any of you know if it is likely to be worth selling?

  • That would awesome, here's to hoping! 🤞🏻

  • Just popped back to Southampton as moved out a while ago. Laing's used to be downstairs there but they were due to move but it hit delays. It's finally open and the space is hugeee. The Rolex section of the boutique is not yet open but the colleague there told me it'll be the latest in the UK when it's complete!

  • Our Rolex room was the largest outside London when we first did it.

  • Oh right! They have a Patek showroom in there too. They've always stocked them but haven't had that many models on display, so seemed rare seeing aquanauts and nautilus variants in the cabinet, well outside of London anyway, as you say.

  • Yes we know them well it’s gonna be truly amazing.

  • Decorating today so G-Shock
