Really? I've got a U26 and it has good with me for the past 6 years.

Should’ve caveated with YMMV, and sealed bearings are made to last, but over several years at the shop that’s what I’ve seen. Purely subjective of course.

Brompton hub adjustment. I have seen all the videos but would like to confirm that in second gear it needs to show 1mm of the full bar, rather than 1mm of the bar where the flexible bit is attached. Thanks
Sorted I think it is

This might not be good advice, but I don't go by the 1mm rule - it worked for me as a n00b years ago, and then at some point I couldn't work out why it didn't, and put it to stretched gear cable or potentially something to do with the hub.
I normally expose closer to 2-3mm as a starting point (the solid bit of the rod, no chain) and then adjust until the shifting feels right. If I've replaced gear cables too, I end up needing to make tiny adjustments about a month later anyway.
More recently, I've had good success by just remembering how much thread is exposed on the opposite end of the indicator rod/chain.

Hi guys
Need some advice.
Wondering if I can put some low risers on my flat bar brompton just to make a bit more comfortable. Wondering if I'd need to change all the cables . Advice needed 🙏🏿?.Just wondering if that doesn't work swaping my flat bar brompton for the M bar one.
Please and tanks

I think you’d need to swap all the cables, yeah… not too hard maybe but a bit of a faff?

Thank you was thinking the same thing 😊 What risers would anyone suggest and the cheapest cable options online.

Oops wrong thread lol

I went from flat to kuosac mid risers, very happy with them and not expensive. Made a real difference to comfort but if you don’t trim them they can slightly effect the fold.

Ah ok .
I might try those bars you mentioned -

does anyone have a spare one of these hanging around?

I switched to a rack over the summer so should do, will need to search the shed, and currently quite wet round here (not London) so if you’re in a rush might not be the quickest to get the water out before I get in!

Yeah new cables really for anything over 25mm rise
Mid rise is a great bar, but it does add a fair height making the bike M type height.

+1
I need one too, mainly for the wheel/coaster and not so much the fixture. I believe it's riveted, but I've got the Milian Plablo reinforcement fitted on my mudguards.

What's the going rate for a Brompton S2 these days?
I'm bringing mine to London in a couple of weeks and intend to sell it while I am there.
It's baby blue, has a chopped Brooks B17, standard seatpost, the original bag with its waterproof cover, and Schwalbe tyres. I changed one of the sprockets on the rear to change the lower gear to 69 inches, which improved it considerably. -

Looking for a luggage block and a bag if anyone is sitting on one.
Joining the fold thanks to lunar cycles. Lovely little shop, recommended. Really loving this thing.

Rather than the mid bars might try low risers similar to below
