  • No experience to share, but your theory of taking lots of BP measurements and thereby reducing general anxiety physiological response seems valid

    I'd guess though that instead of "a test every morning" it may be better to get yourself comfortable, in front of a tv, and do 20 readings. And then do the same tomorrow. etc. Basically just get to the point where its hard to care (as BP tests are in fact very boring)

  • Try to leave around 2mins between readings. I normally take three reading and then average out the results. I found my first is always high and then goes down with each reading.

  • Heh - I just keep on taking mine until it's normal.

    In fairness, it does mean that I am taking the time to do some breathing exercises and to calm things down.

    Finally got round to calling my GP again, and have a referral for a 24 hour ECG.
