So curvy old school on a bike that has no bounce but goes fast offroad somehow makes sense?
I don't have mine because I am that into the old school looks, but because I wanted fun offroad without high-tech stuff that breaks. And stooge is somehow the best offering in that niche segment.I like that focus, it's proper no bullshit cross bike, fond memories of the guy that stopped when I crashed, he had one like that. But it's not beautiful.

Nope, it's functional (just about).
I don't mind full rigid MTBs (I've owned a lot) I just don't like most 'throwbacks', retro stuff, etc.
Just give me round steel tubes welded to each other in a double diamond OR give me a wind-tunnel tested, absolute proprietary, pain in the ass to build, you'll never find spares for it, kill or be killed machine.
The Focus was half built by someone on here back in 2011 or so and I bought it and finished it with old parts for something to ride around in Poland when I was there.
So you're comparing a Parts Bin Special with a new bike.
It should be noted that most of my bikes are fucking ugly (func>form) so I give zero shits about calling out what I think is ugly and one of my fugliness metrics is curves. Old ass looking curved forks belong in the 1930s or something. dealwithit.gif
