  • Party wall stuff….

Behind neighbour is building a two storey extension for which they have planning permission.

As you can see, it’s right up to our neighbours property line. Should they have entered a party wall agreement or done anything to notify our neighbours? They haven’t done anything so far and we only learnt it was a two storey extension when they started the 2nd storey this week.

It doesn’t really affect me but she’s a right cunt and has complained loads about stuff we’ve done to our house and our neighbours so want to make sure she’s above board.

Why would they? They can build up to their boundary. There's no shared wall. Presumably as they applied for planning there would have been general notifications put out for interested parties. I guess it would have been polite for them to tell your neighbour but I don't think they have to tell them.

Neighbour (and you) might be interested to see if there are any new windows overlooking their property. Suggest they check the plans.

  • Check that the fence is actually built on the boundary and that the neighbour is indeed building on their own land. If they aren't, then a right stink could be kicked up.
