For a little while here I thought someone had spent 500 notes on a rare 50p

I've got a couple of tins of funky UK money and foreign notes and coins from travels. I'm not a collector, I just throw the funky ones in a jar. Are you after anything specific?

I have a 10 dinar note from Tunisia.
Technically it is illegal to take currency out of the country, when I was at passport control they asked me if I had any money on me, like a true pro smuggler I cracked immediately and apologised profusely and produced the single note.
He then scowled at me and let me through, with the tenner.
I can only assume if I had a fat roll of cash, they would have trousered it and bought a few beers that night.

We have an Iraqi Dinar note here, with Saddam Hussein's murdering mug on it.

I'm wondering what happens when I return with notes that have the old King's face on.

I've never paid attention to those rules. I think every country I've visited I've taken cash from.

I'm definitely in the Leave No Trace camp but this is cash, there's fuckloads of it and it's in everyone's grubby hands. Zero fucks given.

In the case of a lot of them, it's quite handy to look in my little pot and go "aha! I still have some money from X" and use it again.

So, yeah, I value my convenience over rules :) Same reason I always run red lights, speed and do all those illegal drugs while looking at my stolen art.
