Has anyone come across the Capcom or Taito Super Pocket yet? Seem brilliant and take the Evercade cartridges.

Anyone got one of those crkd nitro decks for Switch, much of an improvement over standard joycons? Seems to be a few offers on them at the moment.

Not seen the Nitro deck before but I use Hori controllers on mine. There's no battery so can't be used wirelessly but are much comfier for non-child sized hands.

I have Hori ones too, with the programmable "turbo" button and extra triggers on the back.
Daemon X Machina was on the box, I think it was a game tie-in.
Much comfort (such wow)

Bought my Dad the Taito one for Christmas as he was a big Space Invaders fan when he was younger - the user experience is a little confusing (you hit select before start on the start menu…‘why do I have to add a coin before playing?!’) and the screen’s a bit smaller than I anticipated it being.
Lovely bit of kit though, and he’s almost certainly going to be getting the Pac-Man cart in the near future (probably on a day I’ll be there to make sure it works!).

Taito one has puzzle bobble. Almost tempted except I have it on a dozen other platforms…

Stumbled across Chants of Sennaar. To call it a cross between "Return of the Obra Dinn" and Journey wouldn't be accurate, but it has some of the elements of the former and some of the look, sound and mysterious mission of the latter. Climb the Tower of Babel, learning the unique language of each level (they talk to you in glyphs, which makes that a lot easier), solving puzzles.
Much easier with keyboard and mouse than controller, if you're tempted.

great share thank you, was googling around for a full explainer when he hit the news but kept coming up to dead ends.

I've spent more time with the Anbernic. It's a treasure trove. You can play most games up to and including PSP games put of the box. 1000s of games
Quick and responsive controls and menus.
Feels good to hold, the triggers at the back seem OK though not well tested as I'm playing button control mainly
For $78 a real bargain.

Funnily enough I've been binge watching some videos of their 405m. Think I'm going to install a few more ROMs on my laptop and see how much I actually use them before committing to another device for the handheld drawer!

Walked away from the computer for a few hours, came back, wasn't sure which thread I'd left open.

I bought one over Xmas holidays as the joy-cons were driving me crazy trying to make Samus shinespark in Dread, to collect all the difficult/hidden pickups. Absolutely love it. I've also got 4 joycons with drift issues.
+ve Buttons feel good
+ve Swappable thumbsticks - big issue with OEM ones, you have to send it off and pay Nintendo to get them replaced
+ve Well built
+ve Comfortable
+ve No drift
+ve All the other features they advertise-ve Kind've expensive - got mine on sale
-ve The placement of the analogs and d-pad doesn't feel suited to all games
-ve Make sure you don't skip arm day
-ve It's big, would prefer to travel with standard Joy-ConsPros defo outweigh the cons for me. I'm not using the programmable buttons, turbo or anything.

I don't normally impulsively buy a new machine, but I did today. If it's crap I'm blaming you!! 😋

In case it wasn't one you'd noticed, the black or white ones are currently £50 at Argos. Wood Green have stock.

You will love it.
My mate has one, he gave me go, I held the beauty in my hand, felt the heft, saw the quality the graphics, and the range of games. The second time* in my life that I knew I must have one.
Can't put it down - reliving the Dreamcast days atm*(The first time was in 2007, when a fellow cycle trainer gave me a go on her fixed ...)

Just saw this released, this is very tempting now!

Do prefer the 4:3 screens on the Anbernics though

The kit with the case + spare analogs was £60, but in mint green only. Not my cup of tea, so just got the black.
