Merida Big Nine Limited (29” Wheel) Medium MTB - POSS SWAP/PX for Road Bike??

I bought this March last year to try to get back into MTB a bit but according to my Strava I have done less than 120 miles on it, all of them very light off road. So time to accept I will only ever really ride a road bike and move it on to someone who can enjoy it.

Overall in very good condition, a few minor scratches here and there. I have renewed the tubeless fluid recently and gave it a good clean and service but it could probably do with a new chain maybe?

I bought it from a young guy who said he didn’t really ride it much either and from what I can see it is standard spec other than the wheels that have been changed (will check the make and model and update).

Potentially interested. This would be for my nephew who is only 13 years old and is asking for this spec, 29er, hardtail, dropper post! His budget (parents money) is £300-350. Would you let it go for £350, my sister could pick it up from you this weekend?

Sorry, £350 is a fair bit lower than I'd hoped for to be honest.

I just spoke to my sisterand her max she can stretch to is £400. How does that sound. Like I said she is driving down to see me this weekend so she can drive past you in South Croydon as she is coming from Shoreham by sea and I am in Sydenham so needs to drive through that part of Croydon.

Hi Dave - sadly not. My sister sadly bought a bottom-of-the-line Trek hardtail second hand so don't expect that to last long for £260. Shame as yours was a nice one with all the bits my nephew wanted.

I have a rim brake Vitus aluminium bike in a stock 54, with silver Centaur, 53/39 I think. I bought it a few years ago in France as a holiday bike, lightly used out there, but the tyres and bar tape are quite perished now. It now sits on a turbo in Sussex and has never been used for anything for c 5 yrs. I am much more likely to use an MTB. I can easily get to Westerham. I am away until next Tuesday so no pics just yet - but might this be a potential swop for you? We can talk via DM if interested
