I had an old Certina President that loved/love but it kept packing up. I thought these new DS2 reissues looked like a modern version of my old one. I was umming and ahhing for ages but eventually bought it. It's about as large as I'd want to wear a watch. Very robust. Feels 60s/70s somehow. I read it was a sport watch so I have kept it on for sport/work/everything. Job is hands on and this has barely scratched at all.

That looks fantastic. Haven't seen these before. Looks like it wears much smaller than 40mm.

The DS watches have a cool history with some interesting profile-raising/marketing focussed endurance tests in the 60s. That said, I only heard of them because the Certina President I got from my grandad.

also yes it does wear smaller, which is a relief

Obvious question is what do they want to wear it with/for? Does it need to be water proof, hard wearing, fur under a shirt cuff, etc
That should give a better idea of what style to look at

After getting a great valuation and offer from Subdial and some nice comments about the blue 79090 (inc from the guy from Subdial who said he has one himself) I am not sure I want to sell it! Maybe something else… happy Sunday 😊

If you go there I would ask him how many Speedmasters he has worked on. Bear in mind that chronographs are a lot more complicated than a regular time-only watch.
He may also not be able to order genuine Omega parts if he is not accredited.
Swiss Time Services or The Watch Atelier are reputable accredited places to take an Omega, but as ejay said it will require a full service (though that will be the case regardless of where you take it) and the associated cost.

For those interested in the VPC watch brand that I've been working with, there's a good overview / interview with the founder Thomas here:
