Oh right I guess that could be problematic if you were a bit forceful.

Cupwise we’re very happy with our 9cl Duralex Picardies. Watching the espresso curl in on itself as it comes out of the Robot is one of life’s pleasures, very Guinness-like.

I use whichever mug I grab from the shelf when the Clever reaches 2m 15s. Cold mug FTW

Cold mug FTW
Absolutely, I leave mine outside on the windowsill to cool down (and then pop the coffee outside for 10 mins) to cool down further.
Can't be arsed waiting 20-30 mins for it to reach a drinkable temperature.

Ha that’s extreme. Pray for no bird poop.
But yeah I will always try drinking it too hot, scald my tongue, and ruin the rest of the experience.

A friend of mine who got really serious about coffee at some point (imported green beans from Brazil, roasted at home, bought the fancy water just for the coffee etc.) now just dumps an ice cube into his mug because he's just kinda impatient.
Come to think of it you could store some mugs in the freezer 💡

How the fuck are people breaking clever drippers?
Are they actually breaking them or popping all the parts out whilst cleaning and forgetting how to put them back together? Otherwise what is there to break?

My partner knocked it off the worktop and the stopper bit shattered off.

I've been tempted by the ice cube route to be honest! The only downside is that it means less space for coffee in the Keepcup, normally brew 350ml into it which is probably 5mm from the rim.
Didn't want to pop it in the freezer just incase that was too big a temp swing to maybe crack the glass.

True! Thankfully it's pretty well covered by the roof/gutter!
We also have a pretty consistent steady wind which helps cool it down very quickly.
Though I have had occasions where I've made it too soon before a meeting so have had to resort to a small USB fan plugged into the laptop to cool it down...

Currently drink out of re-used Nutella jars. However I have intentions of upgrading to Duralex - can’t decide between Picardie and Provence though. Does the wider brim on the Picardie improve latte art performance in any applicable way?

Let me know how you get on if you do get one.
I definitely found it tricky to maintain to a point where I couldn't taste the filter. And I think of all the cloth filters I've seen, the siphon one should've been the easiest to keep clean.

Looks like something you keep in a very safe place

Hah! These always make me think of the facehugger specimens in the medlab in Aliens. Guessing it's the colour + long tail

Been using a Chemex Ottomatic for the lasr couple of weeks. Never made Chemex before (strictly V60 and Pavoni here!). Won it as part of the LSOL subscription on a coffee forum I am part of.
Such a simple and fairly elegant design for a 'machine' and my V60 dripper also fits on top of the Chemex as well so best of both worlds!

Absolutely disgusting, looks like there's algae forming 🫢

Yeah it looks pretty bad, though that's just some condensation on the outside of the jar (plus the beige of the filter making the water look pretty disgusting). Opened it up and the water + filters are all clean!

Must be the dramatic lighting in this pic then 🙂
I'm guessing trying to clean around the stopper with a brush or similar. I just rinse mine, which probably isn't doing much in the way of actual cleaning.
