Just say "I'm sorry to do this to you but this situation isn't working for me. I need you to leave at the earliest opportunity while I re-evaluate. I can give you up to X weeks to get yourself sorted".
Then there's no uncertainty what you want. -

This is the right kind of thing to say, being honest is rarely the wrong thing to be. You can be nice and polite about it but something made up will seem that way, and although you might be trying to save their feelings they'll probably know unless they're completely oblivious and it'll be more awkward than the other option.

Waterproof usb connectors exist (like for example these ones https://www.digikey.com/en/product-highlight/a/amphenol-ltw/usb-type-c-waterproof-connectors ) but both halves need to match and your existing equipment doesn't have them. You could maybe a) install your device in a waterproof enclosure or b) bodge it with a load of bathroom silicone.

Today we were walking in Saltash, Cornwall and felt a vibration lasting 5 seconds, then a gap of 10 seconds, then another vibration etc. repeating the sequence about 20 times. Followed by a gap of 5 or so minutes, then the cycle repeated.
It seemed to come from the north west but Google maps suggested nothing much up there apart from an electrical substation. Certainly nothing else big and industrial. It made our feet feel like we had pins and needles. There are no major groundworks in the area I'm aware of.
It was powerful enough to make a loud noise almost like a deep ships horn. But there were no ships of any size in the Tamar according to marine traffic. That would have been south east/the opposite direction to the sound (though appreciate echo/reflection etc).
What was it?

I guess terminating your rental depends on what Tennant they are.

True. It's complex however because I am an over sensitive person with extreme mood swings and a history of taking rash decisions that don't solve anything but often make things worse. So I have to think about this carefully.

You're obviously doing this.

you're making someone homeless
A little harsh if they're giving them a decent chance to find another place.

FTP question:
An FTP of 460W is not completely unreasonable, is it?
As in - it's pro-level, but not superhuman.
(ignoring w/kg)
-
• #119967
Over an hour, 460W would match or break the hour record.
-
• #119968
Filippo Ganna level
-
• #119969
It’s borderline superhuman, if it’s from a 60min test and not from a 20min test with a % reduction.
Even the latter would be indicative of World Tour credentials. From a pure power perspective.
As others said, look at Ganna and Hour Record stats.

Will I be able to walk into a bike shop tomorrow, in Bristol, and come out with a disc brake adaptor for a PM brake on an IS fork? Going to be walking to work next week if I have to order online
-
• #119971
The bike shops in Bristol would be a bit shit if not, I imagine they'd at least have a bunch in the workshop for beer, unless you need a weird size.

Offer them money first. Times are tough and some of us are sober.
-
• #119973
This presumably means independents with decent workshops. I think on a Sunday the only ones open might be a Halfords and an Evans
-
• #119974
BW might have someone in the workshop today. They only work on customer bikes but they’re nice people so if they can help I’m sure they would.
Edit. Google says they’re closed today but they definitely have been open on Sundays before so might be worth a phone call

As it has spawned a well known expression, is it safe to assume that it's worse to be stuck paddle-less up a creek compared to down a river?
