Yes, Bonding. But some PVA first.
Bonding is not difficult, just need a trowel/float/bucket.

I should mention
This is the best section
The rest, the (actual) concrete used to bond the tiles has taken great chunks of the surface of the blockwork off with it
Should have just tiled over the tiles :(
