I did decide to get a Bialetti again, stainless steel this time (New Venus), and a nice little mug as well.
By the way, haven't seen much regarding cups / mugs in this thread - what do you guys drink your coffee out of?
I got one of these - "Le Creuset Stoneware Cappucino Mugs"
(this is a 200ml one - I already had the 350ml version for filter coffee.. they're amazing, look great and are wonderful for, erm, drinking coffee out of!)

The Kalita has definitely been on my list for a while, but I need to reorganise my coffee space to make some room first!
Have you used the cloth filters? My only experience of them has been with a siphon brewer and it was a faff to keep them clean. Still got a pair in my fridge in a jar of water, looking sort of like a small facehugger

Had my glass Keepcup for maybe 6 years now? Now extra valuable due to the Taylor St. Baristas (RIP) branding.
Have been considering an Ember for a good few months now. Seems like a stupidly extravagant thing to buy, but it would be very nice.

Something similar but different?
Thank you as well for the suggestions, yet I wanted something different than filter coffee.
These Kalita things look cool, but always stroke me as being a bit hipster / fancy, with the dedicated expensive filters etc. I don't know. Never had a coffee made with them though, maybe it's amazing?Think if I go back to filter coffee I'll just get a V60 again, for me that just worked really well, got great coffee out of it (even without a gooseneck kettle!) 👍

I've been using paper filters in it but I get annoyed when I run out so a cloth one is on the buy list. Apparently they give a better mouth feel too, Hoffman is a fan.

I use one I bought from a tiny little shop in Wales that sells handmade kitchen stuff. https://pwtstheshop.co.uk/collections/kitchen-and-dining/products/mustard-mug

That looks very nice 👍

Yeah they're just another version of filter coffee and more similar to a v60 than a clever dripper is but they do produce different coffee. If you want something a bit different to play with maybe grab a cheap mokapot and try out some different recipes.

I love it because the UX is perfect. It's quick, easy to use and makes great coffee. And you don't need a stupid kettle.

glass Keepcup
That's so weird, I can't really explain it, but I never liked drinking coffee (or any hot beverages for that matter) out of glass.
At the same time I stronly dislike drinking cold beverages out of stoneware 😀 -

I’m struggling to find these glasses in the UK.
Whenever I find them it’s £60 just for the shipping

you don't need a stupid kettle
No offense, but I think you exaggerate this kettle problem a bit 😘
I could give you filter coffee made with a very non specific kettle, a V60 and some cheap ass filters that will make you praise the lord, seriously.
On a sidenote: my mum can make the most amazing coffee by just dumping lots of hot water in a completely oversized stoneware filter thing, but in a very special way that I don't seem to be able to understand, and the coffee is so fucking amazing that Hoffmann would marry her I'm sure.

They’re completely different

Hah! I've got the Keepcup for filter and some of these for flat whites:
Definitely a subjective thing (much like the V60/Aeropress/Kalita/Clever/Chemex etc. discussion)

I’ve tried various different espresso cups. I prefer the ones where the base is wider than the top.
I even tried an address in the US but still £60 shipping

The manufacturer seems to sell on Amazon with 11$ shipping. I think import fees are paid upfront: https://www.amazon.com/Hearth-Insulated-Nespresso-Designed-Espresso/dp/B085DHHLGJ/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=glass+coffee+mug&qid=1605826384&sr=8-1
Sorry, same seller as your screenshot, but postage seems to be amazon standard global shipping

I got my dad one of these for Xmas. He seems to really like it but I just couldn't jive with it the few times that I used it. Probably should've read a brewing guide first....

No. Use whatever you want.

How the fuck are people breaking clever drippers?
It's a plastic cone and handle with the most basic stopper mechanism
Funny you mention that, this was literally my first thought / concern with these things 🙂
