I cycled a very casual 6 days in Tuscany in March [round trip from Pisa, part courtesy of Chat GPT].
We crossed the via francigena multiple times, and I would say in Tuscany at least it isn’t all cycleable - likely to be lots of walking.

I guess that's why the event that prompted this is only a 420k section of it. Presumably there's shit bits that have either been developed or maybe left to rot over the years.
