front mech for a pal who's building up an old Peugeot
How old? Most of the 70s and up steel ones will take a 28.6mm clamp. 52/42 was the road default for many years, so there are loads of FDs out there which will work with a friction down tube lever, commonly on Peugeots Simplex or Huret, but there are suitable models from Campag, Suntour, Shimano, Gipiemme and Zeus among others. Some modern road FDs won't like a gap of only 10T, so be careful with anything 21st century.
Morning All.
Trying to source a front mech for a pal who's building up an old Peugeot. Has a 6 speed cassette and 52/42 chainrings, clamp on. Pls could anyone suggest some options? I'm a bit lost/don't know what I don't know.
TIA
