Someone was asking about climbing in Catalunya and somone else said 'isn't it all super hard'. I saw this and it's relevant.

Seems like a reasonable trade off. What colour(s) did you go for?

The Atom+ is their standard colourway black/blue, the roo will be random as offcuts. Kinda hoping the picker /packer has sympathetic ocd-ish and it is a close match the the bag hut not fussed really.
Seems like a reasonable trade off.
WhatsApp family poll for choice of Heinz, Branston, or Suma has just been sent

The random roo isn't an exact match, but not far off, really happy with them both on first impressions.

Nice! Maybe I’ll manage to fit a course somewhere in the Pyrenees next year though I’m also looking at Cévennes.

Nice, I'm thinking of going to bassana de grappa to do one with Kelly Farina (mastering paragliding) and plan to do a pilotage/siv more local.

Just back from my second day ice climbing and my first trip with the Swiss Alpine Club. We climbed about 6 routes in a day, all around 10-12m. Most were on top rope which is more than scary enough, but I did lead twice on some WI3 ish climbs. Already got the next two days planned (hoping there is still some ice in 4 weeks time). A couple of the routes were mixed, which I found a completely different ball game, scratching around for a tiny crack or pocket rather than just smashing an axe in.
FYI for anyone interested in ice or winter climbing, I can recommend the Blue Ice 'Art of Ice Climbing' book. It's very detailed and makes a good read!

Anyone in the market for a four season backpacking tent should be looking at this, nigh on half the price of the Hilleberg Soulo and it looks the absolute business. I'm sitting on my hands repeating I don't need another tent, I don't need another tent 🙄😬

Any recommendations for a rain jacket, need to replace my Marmot one which has died a death? Nothing too fancy (£50-£100), will more be used for going to the shops than hiking but will get the occasional use beyond that.
Any brands to go for/avoid? Cheers

Might be a smidge over your budget but the Outdoor Research Helium rain jacket is very popular on the YouTube hill walking/camping channels. It's very lightweight and looks like a crisp bag but people swear by them.
I've got a Rab Kinetic Alpine jacket made from Proflex which is designed to be worn all day on the hill, is very soft and works really well. But again I think that was £100+
The Frog Toggs gear is dirt cheap and very waterproof, but again like a crisp packet and fairly minimal.
Mate of mine swears by the Haglofs L.I.M jackets, I think they are usually discounted if you look around online

Posted this in the walking thread as well as didn't know this one existed which is also applicable.
Does anyone know of any good multi day walks in France for a trip in June with stops in AirBNB/Hostel/Hotel rather than camping? Me and my partner did the North Downs Way from Rochester to Dover and then back along to Canterbury last year over 5 days and we're looking for something similar and I kind of fancy France. All but one of the days ranged from about 30-37km and looking for a similar daily distance.
Would be great if it can be accessed and returned by train from London. Something that has a historic significance or something is also a plus, we liked the link to the Pilgrims' Way on the North Downs Way for example. I've started to have a look at the Pilgrims' routes of France but haven't got far into it yet.
:)
