Oh, Zorro is perfect for that list! I've probably seen The Mummy at least 20 times by now. Classic mid 2000s DVD rotation.

Rye Lane was a nice little new years day on the sofa rom com. Think it was mentioned on here before, not winning any awards but really cheered me up on a grim evening.

I saw some late Tremors sequel is on Netflix (Cold day in hell or something)
Not got around to watching it yet, but it is on my list.~(note: none of the sequels I have seen are worth it, I am sure this one will be equally shite)

My disgusting hangover films were OG Harry potter and gladiator as I was limited to ITV 1-3 in Tenerife unless I fancied something dubbed into Spanish, which I did not, they were reasonable options.

' Go’ 90s style ecstasy dealing gone wrong US style. In a similar vain to human traffic.
That sounds good, may have to check that

The black and white directors cut of 'The Mist' is really excellent.
-
• #20384
I’ve seen the mist like 15 to 20 times (it was my ‘happy movie’ during an incredibly dark period in my life, lol) but I’ve never yet seen the b&w version. Really should get around to that.
Rewatched the colour version in between Boxing Day and New Years. It’s still got it.

I still maintain that Quintin Dupieux 2010 film Rubber is outstanding.
-
• #20386
It certainly has its moments, not sure about the breaking the 4th wall aspects.

Maestro is visually stunning. I went in knowing nothing and came out quite moved.

Thought it was excellent. If you haven’t watched A Star is Born, give that a go. Bradley Cooper is a real talent.
Silence of the Lambs starting on ITV right now, if that isn’t an utterly redundant comment in this day and age.

Speaking of Silence of the Lambs, there was a great send up of it on a great anthology show: Murder Most Horrid. I need to give that another watch. Guess it’d be on Britbox.

May as well throw this in here as well as I’m reminded…
This movie is so great. The narrow depth-of-field headshots are something I don’t know if I’ve seen quite so much to the same extent anywhere else.

I saw Godzilla minus one on the big screen yesterday, all I can say is catch it while you can.
-
• #20392
Going to see it at the IMAX tomorrow, given the reviews hopefully they'll extend the run.
-
• #20393
Perfect place to see it.
My only disappointment was that they didn’t use the Simon Says instrumental anywhere during the film, I kept waiting for the bass and drums to drop in but they never did.

The Boy and the Heron tonight, my first Ghibli film. Quite moving and beautifully drawn. Loved it. On the way out of the cinema a cat was standing just outside the door receiving petting from almost every person leaving the theatre. It knew clearly what it was doing. That was very Ghibli as well.

Just saw it too.
Wild movie. Still processing it.

Took my 7yo to see it yesterday not realising how deep it’d be, or that there’d be some pretty grotesque/intense moments, but he seemed to really enjoy it and got as much of the deeper meaning as I could, although that’s not saying much! Great movie.

Just watched Saltburn. Much better than I was expecting, as I assumed it was overhyped. Won't change your life, but would recommend.
-

Watched Society of the Snow last night. Solid, but doesn't really add anything to the story above and beyond Alive.

Haha, it's been years since i watched the original and hadn't pegged that was where Pharoahe Monch took the sample from. Penny dropped during the train scene. Double lolz as i originally read your message as Charly says and was wandering why the fuck they would be dropping the Prodigy.
I enjoyed it but maybe not as much as i thought/hoped i would. Ditto for my partner who is Japanese and loves the original. It owes a lot to Jaws which is no bad thing.

Just came out of The Boy and the Heron. Wow, another Miyazaki masterpiece!
The Mummy or The Mask of Zorro. I love them. Both in the late 90s BIG budget action with minimal (maybe zero in Zorro) CGI, amazing cast, great action, full cheese. I love them both.
