Yeah exactly this.
It’s what I’ve done in the past.The official sram ones are stupid expensive at rrp, but I think that cheaper hoses with the proper compatible banjo started to appear on AliX in recent years.

To answer your question, I'd say yes.
Tho advice given to me when cutting braided brake lines for motorbikes was to wrap the area you are going to cut with masking tape as it stops the outer edges becoming frayed.
Aren't they just normal hydraulic hoses? As SRAM use dot 5.1 brake fluid Just got a three line for a motor bike made and delivered with stainless steel ends for £66 so 50 feels steep. Will give feed back on the motorbike thread.
Actually just brought some sram front and rear flat bar hydraulic brakes for £40 or £20 each from tredz. Could this be a cheap source of hose for you?https://www.tredz.co.uk/.SRAM-Level-Disc-Brake_91926.htm
Also maybe give think automotive a call, they have been my first port of call for strange stuff on motorbikes and cars.

I have some SRAM force 22 shifters & brakes. The hoses are a bit too short on refitting to a different frame.
They're also mad expensive. 50 quid each?! They've got the silly angled banjo fitting on the shifter end and other than jagwire, I don't think there's any suitable alternatives except Sram. That way I only need to buy one new hose.
