Good to know, as I’ve pulled the trigger on some hookless wheels for the Midnight Special. They’ll be paired with 27.5 x 2.1 Teravails.

Has any one used the Panaracer Agilest? Very cheap on wiggle atm and reviews seem ok.

Tubed version only on sale, I think; an occasional riding partner has them and hasn't commented negatively. Sorry - not much help!

If anybody is interested I did a thing about tyres. You might want a coffee and a bit of cake. Or some matchsticks.

I have them on two bikes (1 tubed 1 tubeless), I got the second set because I liked the first ones. (fwiw tho I'm in Japan so the fact that they're relatively cheaper than other brands and readily available is also a big part of why I bought them)
I definitely rate them, specifically I think they're good value as they're about half the price of top end tires for me and much more than half the performance. There might be better options in other countries but if the Wiggle sale is good then it probably applies.
However they do a lot of what they do just by not having a lot of rubber or puncture protection (this is the simple reason they're so light, I also find they have a very pleasant "ride feel" which is presumably due to the same) so not sure if I'd want them on some UK roads. Also not sure about longevity, I'm not there yet but most reviews seem to say around 3000km before they need to be changed.
They did perform well the one time I've ridden them in the wet which might be a plus for UK winter. -

Cheers both. That's really helpful. I think they would ultimately be used for winter / commuter duties so probably not suitable.

Teravail are approved for Zipp hookless rims. Rode 35c cannonballs for a couple of years with no issues

is a 25mm internal width (essentially a gravel wheel) TOO wide for winter road bike use? could let me run some bigger tyres on my strael :-)
-
• #10110
It's perfect. I run a LB WR38 (internal 25mm) year round on my winter / audax bike. 32mm tyres plump up to a lovely 35mm.

does sound very appealing and can get a good deal on some roval terras... need to mull it over/do the maths

damn! wish I had seem that, they're out of the 28s in tubeless now :( [in reply to Thorntonreed]

Basically the same set up with my winter bike. A nice snug fit under some Kinesis fend off guards.

I've ended up with Vittoria Corsa Controls in black for £37 a go which I was happy with.

Help for muddy gravel tyres 650b that don’t cost a kidney pls :) tubeless and tan wall!
-
• #10118
Just fitted these but I’m not sure about the tan-wall. If you can find something good in black I’d be up for a swap.

That looks great imo, nice bike. Im sure the color of the tanwalls changes after some use

Anyone used Vredestein Superpasso's? Found them for £45 which didn't seem extortionate for 32mm tubeless.

Not that confidence-inspiring.

The performance chart for all their tyres are the same, no grip rating, so that's weird.

I have some ridiculous Spengle hookless wheels so looking for tyre recommendations - 650b, hookless compatible, intention to use on mixed surfaces, no wider than 50mm. From above it looks like Teravails may be the answer but is there anything else worth considering?
WTB I surely installed in Zipp hook less. Gravel pressures, 30-ish PSI
