Agh, shite. Will keep an eye out. As if I needed another reason to despise Surrey Quays shopping centre.

Sorry to hear it. Care to share the possible MO so we can protect against it in the future?

Ah man sorry to hear this. That place is lawless, so frustrating.

from your last post you said it was for sale on FB marketplace.
could you share how you got it back? might help others in the future.

Any advice on taking back my sons stolen bike that I've found locked up? Back in the Summer whilst at a park it was nabbed whilst we were over the other end of the park. I didn't get the police involved as I didn't lock it etc.. fast forward to yesterday and I found it padlocked up, obviously unused for some time. What is the procedure here? It was purchased from ebay some time ago so no proof it's mine, it looks worse than it is, and I can resurrect it, my lad REALLY wants it back....

Sorry for a late reply. They used angle grinder and I made a mistake of locking it up just with a chain; it was the Pragmasis 13mm chain and squire lock, they only had to cut 1 link to take the bike.

yeah really awful, my kid loves going climbing there

assume that has been there a while... would probably put a lock on it and then alert police. show photos of you with it etc.

• #16718
Ah man, so do mine. Usually lock our bikes out front in the window.

Yeah it's basically been nicked and never used in the 4/5 months. Can't find any pics of him on it typically. The police station was full of right characters earlier so didn't want to hang around.

Is that just a chunky chain with a padlock?
If so, it's probably a piece of piss to pick. I'd do that, and just walk away with your lad's bike.

Climbing at the Arch? They have something for kiddos?
-
• #16722
There's a very kid / beginner friendly branch of The Arch at Surrey Quays shopping centre.

It is just that, I'm coming round to the idea of rocking up on a dark rainy evening and doing that although lock picking isn't my forte! Didn't realise they were that easy?

If it’s just a normal padlock, piece of piss. Look up “Lockpicking Lawyer” on YouTube.

Cheers, will do that.
