  • Whereabouts are you? I have some you can have in SE23.
I've just realised that what I have is thick, is tacky, but not necessarily meant to be re-usable.
You could probably re-use it if you were sticking metal or plastic, but not paper or card.
You are welcome to give it a try.
ETA - I'm really starting early today on being a numpty - I missed the word 'bar' in your post.
What I have isn't bar tape - it is 'sticks-like-shit-to-a-blanket' double sided adhesive gel tape.

  • Is there anything fun to do with kids (1 and 3) near Edenbridge, Kent?

I've bought a bike that's there and my wife would love it if I could take the kids with me, and they'd probably enjoy it more if it wasn't just a 3 hour round trip.

  • They might be slightly on the young side but hever castle is a classic kids day trip?

  • is a Shimano retro 9s rear mech functionally the same as as a 8s when paired with an 8s shifter (shimano mtb)?

  • It's a lot more fun for kids when the water maze is operating, i.e. summer.

@tbc - do they like animals? The British Wildlife Centre is 15 minutes away and interesting for kids of all ages.

  • Need a Shimano MTB rear derailleur that will do 1x10 speed with a 42 teeth biggest cog.

I think both Deore M6000 (medium cage) and Deore M5120 will work, have I got that right? The latter is marketed as 10/11 speed which seems odd as I thought cable pulls were different.

  • The latter is marketed as 10/11 speed which seems odd

The compatible 10-speed shifters are listed on page C-346 of the compatability map

  • Super helpful as always.

God they have made bikes too complicated

My shifter is M4100 so I think for my needs this says any of M5120 SGS, M4120 SGS or M6000 GS

  • Is there a way to find out the difference between a 2E and 4E Brooks running shoe in EU 42?

    Cheers

  • To one significant place, it is likely to be 2E.

[I would go 4E, you could always lace them up a little tighter].

  • Not quite sure what this means

To one significant place, it is likely to be 2E.

But yeah I'm tempted to go extra wide for similar logic. I'd just like to be able to measure my feet and match them.

I swear Brooks used to have a size measuring guide, but I can't for the life of me find it.

  • Guides are useless.
Fit them in store if possible, if not, order the 5 likeliest models, commit to one and send the others back with a loss on shipping, find the the one doesn’t actually suit, sell on your local used site.
    Brooks yer uncle.

  • What was this passing from top right to left at 3:06 🤔

  • Oh yeah - thanks !

  • @andyfallsoff

    Thanks for the suggestions.

The weather was shite so I just found a local soft play centre in the end.

I would love to go back to the others in summer.

  • I have a track and BMX day session at Lee valley as a present in 2wks.

It's been forever since I did proper exercise and haven't cycled in anger in years.

Have joined the gym as I won't be able to get on a bike. Currently spinning on the bike to get my legs moving again.

Where would be a good place on here to get suggestions on some sort of fitness program in time to get something out of the Lee valley session? Alternatively if anyone else has a suggestion.

I'm aiming to try and do stretching each day and at least a gym session every other day (but aiming for even a little 15-20m cycle in the gym every day).

    Cheers.

  • I've done that when I was pretty unfit. Was still good fun, just a bit harder work

  • For adults or kids?

There’s always the potential for someone to get their nose out of joint about “not sharing”.

In our family the immaturity was from the 91yo great grandfather, but could just as easily be a kid.

  • Silicone tape like ESI or arundel silicone.

  • That's good to know! My OH pointed out that it was meant to be a fun gift not an ordeal.

That said, last year I went snowboarding and I felt like my fitness really held me back, so I just don't want to be dying.

  • Good point. For kids and adults - most likely a bouncy castle in the garden and bbq.

  • I guess that was more of a prompt than anything
    I think it’s objectively a good idea
