  • Death must die is in early access (you only get act 1 until spring) for just a fiver.

it's kind of a mix of hades, vampire survivor and gauntlet. 20 min gameplay loop, waves of enemies/bosses spawn at specific time intervals, every time you level up you pick a new skill/perk. if you beat the 20min boss you clear the act. there's 5 characters and you gear them up with items that drop on the run, then you have a bunch of difficulty sliders to make it harder for better loot.

it's a game that unapologetically wants you to be as overpowered as fuck but also the randomness means you won't be able to get the best build every time you go through. but when you do get the build just right you are basically an 80s action movie hero cutting a swathe through hundreds of enemies in the most insane way possible.

and they did an update for christmas giving all the enemies santas hats

    £5 very well spent.

  • I've been really enjoying this. Your summary is spot on.
Mac M1 Pro battery drain is insane though.

  • Reminder to keep checking Epic daily over the festive period. The Outer Worlds (with all DLCs) is free for another half hour

  • Just been gifted Party Animals by a mate. Not the easiest on steamdeck but playable. Very weird mechanics

  • What's the deal with using other controllers with a switch? Can you get Xbox One or USB controllers working with them? Seems to be a lot of random stuff online when you search

  • I thought a number of bluetooth pads will work, but button config might be the issue?

  • 8BitDo have a couple of USB adaptors that connect a wide range of wireless controllers to a whole bunch of devices, including Switch. Cheap, work well.

  • 8bitdo controllers themselves are really good too

  • Agreed. I’ve got the Ultimate-C-Wired or something, because I couldn’t find a good source of OG 360 pads, and they are fine. I was thinking to buy the M30 for Sega games, but currently using these AliEx bluetooth ones that are about a tenner.

  • Both thumb sticks bottom and centre is the way if you do claw grip.

  • I was playing Animal Party using the OG 360 wired pad and I couldn’t decide if I would have been better using the snes/dualshock layout.

  • Possibly in market for Nintendo 3DS XL.

PM me if you have one collecting dust.

    Thanks

  • picked up a miyoo mini plus. nice bit of kit. enjoying FF VI right now

  • Just checking if there's any StarCraft 2 players around these days...

  • I'm having a problem trying to download GTA 5 , it gets to 17.70gb then just says cannot download, tried 3 times now and then a 403 error

  • Nice! I've had my eye on the PS2/Dreamcast/N64 compatible one for a while now (the 405m I think).

    How're you finding it?

  • It's like all the Christmases have come at once.

Out of the box and good to go.
Looking forward to all the dreamcast

    Shenmue
    Jet set radio
    Rez
    Ikaruga
    Skies of Arcadia

    A miracle gadget

  • Have only managed a couple of hours on Dredge since 23rd December but am hooked ( 😉 ). Wish I could put in a real ( 😉 ) all day shift on it.

  • I've been really enjoying this. Your summary is spot on.

Mac M1 Pro battery drain is insane though.

done all the achievements and can comfortably beat it on lvl30 unless i get really bad rolls. desperate for more content now but also got 40+ hours of fun for my fiver so far.

  • First hour of the film is just some dude running around and falling over.

  • For those few who have a VR headset sitting on a shelf, PrayDog's UEVR Injector dropped yesterday. Insanely customisable tool for turning almost any Unreal 4 or 5 game into a VR game.

As ever with VR, showing a Youtube video of the output doesn't communicate much. Still, this is one fella using it with Alien Fireteam, Returnal, and Atomic Heart.

Tuning it yourself is really only something hardcore games-tech nerd perfectionists are going to want to try, but the community is already churning out configs you can just import.
