Would you guys still ride a road bike with 23mm tyres? Bought a frame from mid 90's which I really like but it only clears 23c max...

I wouldn't personally, but I still see LOADS of people riding them at cafes etc near me. I don't know how they do it on the roads!

Bag makers - if I was to sew a patch through X-Pac fabric, is there something I can put on the thread inside to make it semi waterproof again? (It's got like a glossy inside to the X-Pac).

Or is it a massive no go?

I wouldn’t let it put you off. My daily only comfortably clears 20c. Been commuting on that in all weather and doing weekend rides since summer 2013. I mean, you do have to watch out for potholes and debris but it works for me.

If I bought new, these days I probably would look for something with 25c or 28c because it does make for more carefree riding given the state of the roads.

Most of our immediate family have winter birthdays. I'm contemplating a regular date for a summer party - sort of a joint official birthday if you will.

This year schools break up on 24 July, so I'm thinking of the weekend before.

Could anyone recommend bar tape that doesn’t have a sticky back? It has a reusable gel-like backing. Preferably thick and tacky like Prime Comfort (RIP).
